Dr. Lacey Ellis

Dr. Lacey Ellis specializes in child psychology and has extensive experience in creating multidisciplinary clinical teams and programming in both the private practice and healthcare system setting. Additionally, she has held several national and state leadership positions within professional organizations.

Dr. Ellis received her undergraduate and doctorate degree in psychology at Louisiana State University and completed a pre-doctoral internship as well as a postdoctoral fellowship at the Kennedy Krieger Institute and the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore. In 2022, Dr. Ellis received a graduate certificate in Healthcare Leadership and Innovation from Tulane University in partnership with physician leadership at Ochsner Health. Dr. Ellis is a licensed psychologist in Louisiana, with clinical training in behavior analysis.

Dr. Ellis has provided outpatient psychological and behavioral services to both typically developing children as well as children with exceptional needs in a variety of clinical settings. Additionally, Dr. Ellis has worked in both the public and private school settings with teachers and school personnel as a consultant to design effective behavioral and academic interventions for students She is the founder and former clinical director of Live Oak Children’s Center. She also served as the program director of the Michael R. Boh Center for Child Development at Ochsner Children’s Hospital, where she provided clinical services and oversaw clinical teams and clinical programming for pediatric clinics throughout the healthcare system.

Dr. Ellis is active in several community organizations and professional associations. She is a past president of the Louisiana Psychological Association. She currently serves as a Federal Advocacy Coordinator for the state of Louisiana for the American Psychological Association, leading grassroots advocacy efforts for mental health services at the federal level. Dr. Ellis is a member of Ellevate Louisiana and an active member of the legislative committee of the Louisiana Psychological Association. She is currently serving as chair of the psychology section for the Society of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics, a national interprofessional organization dedicated to improving the behavioral and developmental health of children.

Dr. Ellis is a graduate of the Greater New Orleans Metropolitan Area Charter Board Leadership Academy and has served on several school boards and committees across the community including Discovery Schools/Health Science Foundation Board , St Catherine of Siena School Advisory Council and Jefferson Parish Superintendent’s Special Education Advisory Council.
